We Love Baby!

When we recieve Chloe's referral we are supposed to send things to her like blankets, toys, pictures, etc. This is the coolest way to let Chloe know who is going to be her new family. This book is soft and has a teether on the side, and when she opens it she will see pictures of people that love her very much and will be coming to get her soon. TOO COOL:)

Hey Lindsey! This adoption thing is all I have heard lately lol ;) but that just goes to show how excited you are! I think its a great thing what your family is doing. You will have your own baby sister who is going to look up to you. You have come along way since I first met you and im proud of you for what you have accomplished. Keep your mind straight and your heart strong and you will go far and you can take Chloe with you along the way. I think you will be the perfect big sister for Chloe.

These little books are great! We took one to China for our daughter. It had pictures of us, our son, grandparents, even our house (so she would recognize it). Goofy, I know. We also left one for our 8 month old son while we traveled to China for two weeks... so he wouldn't forget us. The little books are in their keepsake boxes now.

It's wonderful to see how excited you are about your sister. Chloe is already very loved!!

I have one of these books too and will send it when I get my referral. You mentioned sending a blanket too which is a really good thing to do. It may sound funny but it's recommended that you (or your Mom & Dad) sleep with the blanket for a few nights or hang it in your closet with your clothes. Put it in a ziploc bag and include it in your care package.

Babies rely greatly on smell and if Chloe has had an opportunity to 'smell you' :~) via the blanket it can help with her transition. Similarly, on 'gotcha day,' put her clothes in a ziploc bag and when you arrive home in the US you may want to put a piece of her gotcha day clothes with her in the crib to help her blend her 2 homes.

I'm reading all I can on helping the baby through the transition from China to Canada.
